Endoscopy ElectroSurgical Knife

This instrument is designed to use with soft endoscopes to cut tissue in the digestive tract using high-frequency current.

Specifically made to be used with a flexible endoscope, the Single-Use ESD Knife is a instrument that is revolutionizing tissue cutting in the digestive system. This disposable knife uses high-frequency current to guarantee accuracy and effectiveness during endoscopic treatments.

Features

Gold coating on the blade effectively prevents sticking.
I-shaped cutter head: quick dot marking, mucosal stripping.
O-shaped cutter head: ceramic insulator design on the head, greatly improving surgical efficiency and cutting safety.
L-shaped cutter head: rotatable cutter head, large area mucosa peeling.
T-shaped cutter head: can be used for marking, hemostasis, pre-cutting, incision, peeling and other processes.

Components

Disposable Electrosurgical Knife (hereinafter referred to as ESD electric scalpel) is composed of inset portion and handle portion. The inset portion consists of cutter body, isolation head(O type with isolation head, L type without isolation head), traction wire, sheath; the handle portion consists of sheath sleeve, locking sleeve, rotating sleeve, electrode connector, slider, thumb ring. The basic structure diagram as shown in below:

Key Benefits

Ceramic tip: The ceramic tip at the distal end of the device is insulated to help perform incisions and dissections more effectively without reaching deeper areas of the mucosa.

Innovative electrode design: The electrode on the proximal side of the ceramic tip is designed to provide exceptional cutting performance in both vertical and horizontal directions.

Adjustable knife length: The knife length can be precisely fixed at either of two positions — retracted or extended — eliminating the need to maintain the cutting wire length during the procedure.

Knob-shaped needle knife tip: The knob-shaped tip is designed to help make the needle knife less likely to slip, simplify marking, and increase scope maneuverability to allow for a wide range of cutting techniques.

Sheath markers: Distinct markers are visible on the sheath to provide endoscopic verification of cutting depth.

Conductive triangle tip: The tip design is suitable for controlling moderate bleeding.

Ergonomic cutting: Cutting can be performed in any direction without rotating the knife, making it ideal for marking, incision, and dissection.

Instructions for Use

A. Preoperative preparations

1. Before checking or using the instruments, be sure to wear suitable personal protective equipment such as protective clothing, chemical resistant insulating gloves, masks and goggles etc. Size of the personal protective equipment should be suitable and long enough to cover the skin and avoid touch the patients’ blood, mucous membrane or body fluid, which may cause infection.

2. Prepare appropriate hemostatic devices, such as hemostatic clips. Surgical assistants must get ready for the uncontrollable hemorrhage or perforation under endoscopy, which requires immediate transfer to surgical procedures.

3. Spares should always be ready for use.

B. Preoperative examination and cable connection

1. Before application, check whether there is damage, contamination or soaking of the sterilization package, and whether the seaI is in good condition. In case of any abnormality of the sterilization package, be sure not to use that instrument for its aseptic effect may have been greatly reduced.

2. Take out the instrument from the package and unfold it. Check from its appearance of any damage, fracture, bend or twist. Check the uniformity of the cutter type and its label. Make sure whether there is rupture or other damage, bend or other deformation of the cutter. Inspect if there is any loosened or separated components in the instrument. Do not use it for any abnormality that may prevent it fom normal use.

3. Push and pull the sliding handle to check whether cutter can reach out and retract flexibly; Check whether the whole instrument can work correctly under circling state (about 20cm in diameter). If the electric scalpel can’t work smoothly as expected, do not use the instrument, use the spares instead.

4. Check the connecting cable to exclude the twisted, bent, damaged and bare wires, so as to ensure normal power supply. Do not use the connecting cable in case of any abnormality.

5. Connecting operation of the device and instrument should be conducted under the condition that the power supply of the high frequency electrosurgical scalpel has been cut off. Stoutly connect the connecting cable with both the connector on the handle of Endoscopy Electro surgical Knife and the high frequency electrosurgical scalpel device. Following the use requirements of the equipment manufacturers of the high frequency electrosurgical scalpel, connect the neutral electrode and the high frequency electrosurgical scalpel device. Connect the foot switch with the high frequency electrosurgical scalpel device.
